Got the Crockett from Leathermonger yesterday and bought the supplies today so Maggie could shoot it.
I took her out back and set up a dirt clod on the fence post to shoot at. She didn't hit it, but did come close.
Best part is she said the recoil was negligible, which is a good thing with her back problems.
A bit more practice and she'll be doing just fine!

Happy shooting Maggie!! hntr

Lady Bulldog has the some similar issues and she can handle the recoil on the crockett.  when she is ready I may have her try the Tennessee I got from Dryball.  It's a light and short little .50 flinter

I used to own a Traditions deerhunter in .32 caliber. It was a decent shooter and a good rabbit gun, but I sold it to a small lady because she needed a rifle that fit her better than most production rifles do. The light weight and low recoil helped her become a better shooter and she recently sold it to an even smaller lady who needed it for the same reasons.
