I was there Sat Aug 30.
I only came one day because I'm lazy and disorganized and didn't get my stuff together and felt I had the excuse of many other home chores to do during the week. Also threat of thunderstorms up there. And Blah, Blah, Blah.

I had recently purchased (at GunBroker.com) my first flintlock and was eager to have some experts give me advice on shooting it. I started BP back in the early 70's but have not done much in the last 20+ years. Always used caplock. Was a pretty good shot and won Peter Lebec both times I went and also the big shoots they used to have at San Gabriel Valley Gun Club back then. None of  my dozen or so BP books and any really detailed info on flinters.
Got talking to a Roger Russell at Holcomb Valley. Geez, he answered all my questions and even took apart the new gun and adjusted everything. Gun shot great. I really enjoy listening to and watching a CRAFTSMAN.

Where do you shoot? I heard SGVGC is closed and there is a new range, Burro Cyn, up Hwy39.
I live in Whittier so it's straight up Azusa Rd for me. Have not been there yet. Just retired so want to get back into BP and Buckskinning again after too long an absence.

Also, was at a gun store in OC, on that Sunday, lookin around for BP and a guy, looking at my clothes, asked if I knew anything about BP. He had just bought a Lyman GPR and was eager to shoot it.
So now there are two of us guys lookin for a group to shoot with. Let me know.
May go down to the Santa Ysabel Rendezvous next month too.
