OK here is the responce I got fromVeteran Arms

Dear Mr. Drake,   Thanks very much for the message and the question. You are correct in your identification of the intended part. The lock part referred to is, indeed, what is often called the frizzen. (The part that is struck by the flint - the flint being held in the jaws of the cock.) The term hammer is the 18th century term for the part. The origins of the term frizzen are apparently somewhat obscure (they may be a corruption of the dutch term for "hammer"), but in any case did not come into common usage until the late 1800's - after the flintlock had fallen out of popularity. A similar situation regarding terminology is often encountered in regards to percussion weapons. What was almost universally referred to as the "cone" in the percussion era is today called a "nipple." I hope this clears up my terminology. Our guarantee covers the rehardening of the frizzen (hammer). Of course, if I may be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to
contact me. And thanks again for the question.  Sincerely,  Charles Misulia  Veteran Arms, LLC

I went through their whole website yesterday. They seem to be saying all the right things. I hope they back it up. I may be doing some business with this company. I really like their 1st model bess with the steel furniture. The price is right too.

I also read that they also have done some proofing and inspection too.
