Where is the cheapest place to buy? They seem to be a hard item to come by for some reason.

Baldy

I got mine from Cabelas.  Used it already as well and it popped that ball all the way to the 50 yd berm.  (susp) Just be careful which way the muzzle is pointed when you use one.

I got my CO² discharger some time ago.  I can't remember where. The one from Cablea's is a good one.  It has more stuff than you need but then again you may be able to help someone that dryballs at the range.

RMC has them but they are about the same price as the Cabela's.

Red Badger

Just be aware that they are like any other product on the market,  The one I bought from a local store was missing a piece to form the nipple seal and the company would not replace it... the store gave me store credit but it was the manufacturer who refused to help me.  I wish I could remember what brand that was.

And remember "Keep it pointed downrange" !!

Red Badger, mine works great.  I've had it for 7 years.  Today I even used it to put some air in my riding lawnmower rear tire. ;D

Got mine in '95..still haven't opened it....just lucky I guess..cost $19.95 from TC.  #7068.

flintboomer

TC used a special co2 cylinder that was available only from them and they were fairly expensive. Some of the others take a larger than normal cylinder that is avalible, but harder to find and more expensive, but they do work well.
Personally, I just pull the nipple and drop in some 4f or push some 4f through the vent hole, reprime and shoot them out.

I do prettyu much as Flintboomer , both caplocks and flinters . Over the years I have pulled some (mostly) for others . bs The only time I'd not use the powder method is if I don't know for certain  of whats downbore ! [hmm] flwa

I agree with Gordy. If you don't know what is down there, then don't shoot it out, but I am usually at a match or at the range when someone comes along with an "oops". Someone else will grab a co2 blowout, but I will grab a nipple wrench or vent pick.
One advantage of shooting it out is that it doesn't change your next shot like the co2 will. With the co2 blower there will be a lot of moisture drawn into the bore and it will change your point of impact.

Just a "dumb" thought ?? but has anyone ever checked the muzziie velosity when blowing out a PRB from a rifle ?  [hmm] flwa
