EARLY AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE SHOWCASING MERCHANTS, CRAFTSMEN, MILITARY, AND CIVILIANS THEME OF HISTORICAL WEEKEND PROGRAM.

OSHKOSH, WI - The Bradley Co. of the Fox has scheduled one of the Midwest's Original and Largest Indoor Trade Fairs for Saturday and Sunday, February 27& 28, 2010. Show hours are Saturday 9-5; and Sunday 9-3, all taking place at the Sunnyview Exposition Center, Winnebago County Fair Grounds on County Trunk "Y", 1/2 mile East of Highway 76.

Come to our 28th annual event featuring supplies for the Historical Re-enactor, muzzleloading enthusiast, and the general public. Meet the Merchants and Craftsmen stocking historical clothing, books, pattern, tinware, pewter, beads,leather, fur, forged iron, pottery, firearms, knives and hundreds of items too numerous to mention!

ALL FOR SALE!!


Meet civilians and soldiers alike representing time periods ranging from mid 1700's through the American Civil War (1860's), and the Western Frontier. An interesting, and educational experience disguised as FUN! Come enjoy demonstrations, music, unique shopping, period fashion programs, and festive atmosphere. On going Seminars daily in the South Wing; topics include Military Unit History and Parade of Uniforms, Civilian Fashion presentation, and more to be announced at a later date. The event is open to the public: admission is $5.00 for adults, children under 10 free with an adult. Food available on site.

2011 - Feb. 26-27
2012 - Feb. 25-26

Me and the wife....mostly me hdslp are working on 1780-1790 runaway indentured servants from Virginia...trying to find our way to a new life. Im trying to figure out ware we are at, but want to set the persona up so we are in the great lakes area for our persona.

Got my wife started about 8 years ago,she was reluctant at first but now makes her own "fancy" duds,so now we go togeter all in our finest,just got some new skins,my other ones seem to have "shrunk" ?? I will have my badger huntin bag on,seems I'm the only one there that has one. And red knit cap,ala Pasqinel. thmbsup

Could be a unique item up there as the badger is the state animal and they used to tend to frown on people who used the pelts...  Now that I live in OK I'd love to get my hands on a badger pelt or two - especially a red badger, as that is my camp name...

I know what you mean,used to be alot of them cranky ol varmints around when I was a kid but know pretty scarce,have one that moved in onthe place so I'm kinda pertective of it.Had a fella in Oklahoma make my bag for me. I know Crazy Crow used to sell badger pelts not sure if they still do,check "em out!! ;D

I live in Berlin.

I dont have anything but a shirt, so Il just be wering street cloths most likely,  but hope to get some fabric so I can start geting stuff togather.

Few miles north of Redgranite,I hear ya it takes some time to get your "duds" together,then it seems your never satisfied,always changin something!!

Didn't even have a shirt a year ago..traded stuff I had and others needed for what I wanted...got belt knife, great shirt, Kapote, belt, scrim work, even a  Squirrel rifle. Had to buy my moc's at the thrift store and then modify them.  So there is hope...just did around and get busy as a new trader...P.S. Much of the trading was right here on this forum.

thats the truth... Last April I met a feller by the name of OLD Salt and now look at the gear i have... when I met him all I had was a 54 cal cabellas Hawkin rifle named "poacher"
