This Sunday our club had our annual Turkey Shoot.  It is put on by the women in the club who choose the targets.  The target scores are added up and the first eight places win a frozen turkey.

We had the normal good turn out we usually do for this event.  Members that you don't see the rest of the year show up for the turkey shoot.  We had people coming from as far away as Sheridan, a two and half hour drive.  Several of us had a quarter pool on each target.  This kept the banter lively.

One item was especially nice.  The last place turkey was won by a six year old.  Since he was sub-junior he was allowed to use cross sticks.  It was great to see him win his turkey.

We used to attend a turkey shoot in Tecumseh,Mi, that involved live turkey's at @60 yds behind a log,5 guy's on the line at a time, every one shot till turkeys were gone. If ya got a turkey there was a side shoot for chickens and such, big'ole bean pot and a pot luck table that would put 50lbs on ya! But,alas, they went to frozen bird's after decade's of live one's for whatever reason, and I haven't been back(I'm not much of a paper puncher). Every year I try not to sound like my Dad,but God,I miss the old day's.
