I have both a T/C Hawken in .50 cal & a Cherokee what's a .32. both have been neglected for several years due to job & ex-wife (one reason why she's what she is). I remember that both used a #11 cap but they were different thread sizes  hdslp. I need to plug the flash holes so's I can get some Navel Jelly into the barrels without it runnin away. 15 years is along time and I was livin in Southeast Ohio (humid area), before I made the move here ta Utah (nice n dry).

If they're flinters just plug the touch hole with a round tooth pick. If they're cap guns put some leather over the nipple and snap the hammer down on it. Niether will leak that way.

I agree with Deaddawg. Also you can use Kroil brand penetrating oil, and a stiff bore brush to clean them up. It will help to remove the rust and will soak into the threads on the gun and help you to get them loose.  Kroil can be hard to find locally at times but is by far the best penetrating oil I have ever used.

Howdy;   Have used some PB Blaster and both came right out no problem. Know about Kroyle, used it to extract stubborn wing flap bolts from F-14's long ago in a place far far away; apply a drop or 2  tap-tap, go eat lunch, come back tap an out it comes...
I need the thread sizes to get something to plug the nipple holes to help me clean all of the rusty poo  outta them.
Thanks for the ideas though. Guess I'll just walk'em over to the hardware store and play match'em-up till I find the right ones...
