What do you carry in the fishing kit? And is Bakers book pretty much of a must read? Where can it be had?

I would say that the first book is pretty much a must read. It has a lot of how-to articles that are not in the second book. It's really a copilation of his articles from "MUZZLELOADER MAGAZINE". The fishing kit has forged hooks,.32 cal r/b's for sinkers, red and yellow wool to add interest to bait if the fish are picky and I'm hungry, sinew and linen line,Tow because you can never have enough,a couple of corks for bobbers. Your definetly not going to enter the Bassmasters circut with this rig, but you can eat! I got my copy's thru the Muzzleloader magazine's website

How is the sinew acquired and used?

Deer come with a lot of it. The tendons on the lower part of the leg are good as well as the silvery stuff from the backstraps. You can run your knife along  the meat or use the tendons[prefered] let 'em dry lightly pound them to seperate the strands, wet them a little and use them like thread. I like to use them as a kind of a "leader" to tie the linen thread to.
