Quotethe measurement i was asking for is from one outside flat across to another out side flat

Jean thats what needs measuered .

Bore - patch x2 = ball dia.

(left camera on top of truck last easter)

#23
bore               .439

Patch .010x2= .020

Ball   (Close)   .420

I'd start at 35 grs 3fg and tops around 60 grs 3fg. My ol 42 poorboy  shot 38 grs best !

Is the stock one piece or two? Does it have a piece of brass about midway on the stock that could hide a join?

i would not give advise to any one on how much powder to load with out knowing how thick the walls are. i have one rifle its a .54 cal and it loves 200gr of fffg. is that what you want to see down the barrel ov a cva, or traditions type of barrel?

Dryball

Jean, lets see if we can figure what it is first, then think about charges. Okay?

FrankG

You wouldnt catch me even trying such a load yet posting about it .
