Underhammer action

As part of building my first underhammer (2nd gun overall - this could get addictive), I started taking the action apart to file, sand, polish, and finish.  I approached it with a little hesitation since I had never even seen the insides of one before.  Seeing the parts of my flintlocks whenever I clean them, I was a little nervous at taking it apart.  Once I got started I couldnt believe how simple they are.  The steel block, the trigger, the hammer, and trigger guard/hammer spring.  2 minutes to take it apart.  Whoever first came up with the design was a genius at making the complex simple.

Now to get to work.

It's a wonder they didn't catch on more.  They aren't as pretty at first glance, but they grow on you.  And you cant get much simpler and rugged.

Always liked the sleek lines. Wish one of you guys with a mill could turn out some of  these cheap.

Been working on this one.  This is what I attached the action to so far.
