I have a 50 cal Bobcat that looks just like it Needs to loose the plastic stock as well. May just have to rework it into a short Hawken style Be quick handling gun

I got into muzzleloading because an internet friend of mine sent me a muzzleloader.  It is a CVA Frontier.  George put a patchbox on the rifle and made a new wood ramrod for it.  It's an older model.  Not sure they make them this way anymore.

The rifle on top is the St Louis Hawkens, .50 caliber.  The bottom is the Frontier that George gave me.

Here's a photo of the lock size.  The St Louis Hawken has a much larger lock.  The small lock is used on the Bobcat, Springfield Hawken, Pioneer, and the Frontier that I know of.  Probably others.

I sure would like to get a new barrel for the Frontier.

Found out that my Dad broke the drum off of his trying to get the breech plug out...He was new to it and didn't know any better....I won't know how bad the break is until I get there Labor Day weekend, but I was wondering if I sent it to CVA or someone reputable if the drum could be replaced with a vent liner and maybe I could build my Dad a flintlock

could you not convert it to a flintlock?

Ironwood that st. louis is a beautiful rifle

RoaringBull

I guess that depends on how badly its broken

DaBackwoodsman,  With the CVA the beauty is only skin deep.  That's CVA Ultra Finish.  Really sorry finish on some not so hard wood.  :'(
