Just got back from the hospital. Went in Monday w/vertigo and shortness of breath, got a pacemaker put in yesterday, fixed things right up. In two weeks, I should be back to my ordinary orneriness and start getting things done again.

It is amazing what the docs can sometimes do.
Good to hear that you are doing better.

How are ya doing now?  It's been a few months.

Getting around a little better. Still not 100% but at 75 I'm afraid that ship may have sailed or perchance followed the Titantic. Haven't seen any deer to sf=hoot yet but I've got until sundown on Saturday so maybe.

Good luck Saturday. My season doesn't start for another week and I will be out there looking for one with the old TC Renegade.

Last Saturday was the muzzleloader opener here and I scored on a doe 35 minutes into the season. I hunted until yesterday and didn't see another deer, not even a bear which is unusual. Bucks are nocturnal now.

Story to follow after I upload the photos.

Well, I didn't get out much last week. Wind, rain and damp. My wife bought a couple of kitchen cabinets online, heavy, wood, no chip board or thin paneling. What wood I could see grain on was hard maple. So, some dumb old hillbilly tried moving them by himself. Messed up my back so bad, I've still got pain. Oh well, I still have regular season and flintlock only after Christmas. I will be out there again.    hntr

Stop trying to be 30 again, Graybear!  Heal up and and accept your limitations.  It was tough for me to accept my limitations but I did learn....the hard way, but I learned.  I had to stop hunting around 7 years ago and to even try it now would end very badly.  For the rest of you best of luck this season.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

My mind says I'm 30, but my body says my mind's an idiot.

DEER SEASON
Muzzleloading deer season started yesterday for me but with the cold and rain that started with it I'm waiting for the rain to stop (supposedly tonight) before I go.
I'm retired so I have all week. What I'm not looking forward to is the drag out.
I love the sights and sounds of being out there waiting and watching, not being cold wet and miserable.

DEER SEASON
What I'm not looking forward to is the drag out.

Drag it to a wide trail and then get this:

Everything had dried out enough that I was able to drive almost to the deer this year which saved a drag out of 1/2 mile.

The old TC Renegade spoke once and that was enough.

A young deer for the freezer was good enough for me this year.
