Some engraved horns

I hope you dont mind me posting these here, Im hoping these will help others that might attempt to engrave a horn with some ideas of patterns, why do I call these engraved horns? technically, scrimshaw is done on ivory, such as walrus tusk, elephant tusk(in the past) fossilized mammoth, and whales teeth and penis bones, when done on a horn or antler its called engraving, the technique is the same thou, these horns were either built by myself or my partner in the horn side of the biz Uncle Dan, a retired gent in our club, ALL the engraving has been done by Dan, I dont have the time to invest in engraving a horn anymore as Im busy doing other projects, I taught Dan what i had learned and turned him loose, if I can be of service to anyone considering building a horn or engraving an existing horn... please dont hesitate to holler! some of you have seen these before.

jim them be some mighty pretty horns but you always do some fine work  ned is looking for a scrim instructor  how about it?

Im thinking we can do a photo tutorial on a project, starting with the horn construction and moving on to the engraving and finishing, should take a couple weeks to complete as time permits, Ive got a refinish on a rifle and start to stain and FINALLY finish my plains rifle on the plate at the moment. But will get with Dan and see what we can work up!

Yep They are some good lookn horns for sure. I'm darn glad i got one or two of them.
