Barrel is back

Yesterday the .40 barrel sent to Bobby Hoyt for rebore to .45 came with the mail.  I wasted no time assembling the rifle and cleaning the whole thing.  It's now a .45 and what a job!  Bob rifled it with radius grooves that were nicely deep with narrow lands and wide grooves.  To say the work was beyond my expectations would be the understatement of the month.  It was an absolutely beautiful job!

The rebore made the rifle 6oz lighter, 7 lbs 11 oz instead of 8 lbs 1 oz.  The weight is a non issue with me but the rifle does seems to balance a tiny bit better.  Rain's expected the next few days so it will be later in the week before I can get out to the range.  I'll post results if I can manage to shoot a cluster of shots that can be loosely called a "group".

    if you can not shoot a tight group,  get out your bottle of spirits and take a few swigs.  Likely as you get tight, your shot group may also get tight.?

And for the record, we NEED a "Jug" icon. Yeah, I know Millennials call them "emojis", but that's a stupid name. My vote is for ICON.

I agree with you both.  We need an icon AND I do need something to steady myself.  Sorta like "Kid Shelleen".
