Still too slow around here, so lets set a spell and talk guns & stuff.  Doesn't matter if you haven't burned powder in over a year as has happened with me; we're here, own front stuffers and like to shoot and tinker with stuff so lets TALK ABOUT IT!  Anything to do with with ML or the sports we use them in and our "STUFF"!

Although I haven't managed to hook up with a black powder club since moving to Oklahoma City that will come soon now that I am otherwise fairly well settled in.

In the meantime I have taken time to work with my Zuove musket and used my old TC Renegade to harvest 2 pigs and a buck deer.

Haven't done much with my ML rifles as of late but been taking my revolvers and pistols out to a sand and gravel berm behind my house. Doing a lot of chronograph work and target shooting out to about 10 yards. Plan on doing some woods loafing out there this winter on snow shoes while dressed in the spirit of days gone by and if I get lucky shooting a snow shoe hare in the process.

Today, after I saw the orthopedist and got permission if I " feel up to it" to go out after Christmas for our flintlock season, I visited my local, 40+ mi., blackpowder shop and either bought myself a belated birthday or premature gift I bought a new Pedersoli .50 cal. Kentucky rifle. I'll get a 10% discount on any blackpowder accessories I by in the next 30 days and if I use black English flints and It won't spark, he'll reharden the frizzen or provide a new one for a year. NOw to be able to drive out to the club's range for load development.    hntr

Don, don't know about the snowshoe hares out your way but here in Maine one has to be very, very careful hunting them.

I joined "The Ancient Ones of Maine" not too long after moving up here.  I can't & shouldn't drive but I can do so locally around our small town & "sister" town.  Luckily that's where our rifle club & range is located.  The area I can hunt is land near the range so no long trips for me to worry over.  I can just park at the club building and start walking up the dirt "road" until I find a likely looking spot.  The late ML season started today and goes for a couple of weeks.  We have stormy, nasty weather today and miserable weather the rest of the time.  I'm hoping for a decent day and the enthusiasm to get up ang get out there in the next few days, at least once.  Even if it snows I'll still be able to get out there.  Winter before last I even got out to the range to shoot after a snow, although walking through hip-deep snow just to tack up targets kinda sucked.  Not aware of any local BP groups to get with.  I'm unable to drive an hour (+ or -) to get to any get-togethers with The A.O.of M.

Good start so let's keep it going.  hntr

Topbreak, the only reason you even dared say that is because it's true.
