Thank you all so much, your thoughts and prayers truly are appreciated. I know we are all in different time zones and probably all pray at different times, but I swear when I say my prayers at night I can feel them joining hundreds of others as they are lifted up.
mom continues to be in pain, but we are going to be persistant in finding the source of the problem. She goes to see a pain specialist in a couple of days, so we'll see what the next step brings.

more news on my mom, she's still having problems, but we may have found the problem. She had an MRI friday to see about a compressed vertebra in her back which may be pinching nerves causing transferred pain to her chest - turns out she may have damaged her back during the great baton twirling hoolahooping incident.
If that's the case, they will do back surgery and put a balloon in between the vertabra to expand it and relieve the pinched nerves. Fingers are crossed, because we've been seriously thinking the big "C" or something equally horrible....
course if it wasnt the hoolahooping it could a been on my birthday when I threw her off the back of a jetski.... thats what she keeps telling everyone. At least she has a sense of humor!

thanks a bunch ya'll, my mom is doing a lot better. We never did find out what the problem is. About late December the pain started easing up and she was virtually pain free Christmas and New Years. Late last week it began to flare up again, though not nearly so bad. Again, it's really frustrating, but your thoughts, warm wishes and prayers are so much appreciated.
