Leather Unlimited has made in India powder horns on sale for $7.98. I have two one 8 inches and one 10 inches both are handsome pieces and well made. There is no removable base plug but I fill mine through the spout using a small paper funnel. A little bee's wax around the base and its air tight. They come with a fabric cord but I just replace them with leather shoelaces for a more authentic look. I've had the 8 inch one for years and it has given me great service. I just bought the 10 inch one and was very pleased with the shape, finish and workmanship of such an inexpensive horn.

being old ,and blind without my glasses ,I just saw this !  for the price ,they are`nt bad , and there`s enough meat on them that you can do some interesting carving around the spout area ! I just wish they came in lighter colors , black , or black streaked with white is ok , but a bit more variety would be great ! I have two or three of them right now , not sure what I`ll do with them , got them when a friends father passed !

Thanks for the head up on these horns! I love inexpensive stuff that works, especially in this day. People just starting out in black powder shooting needs to know it doesn't "have" to be an expensive adventure thmbsup

I had one I picked up a few years ago that was pretty nice.  And yes, solid black is boring.  I used mine until I dropped it and it actually broke.  Oh well, I have three other horns with lots of white on them and that's more than I really need.  Since I stopped hunting six years ago I don't use them much at all.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.
