Beowulf, I've seen much, much uglier shirts that get worn anyway.  Yours isn't as bad as you indicate and can still be modified, if you want to go that route.  It has "good bones" so go for it.

Beowulf, I agree with Hanshi, I've seen much worst shirts worn and the people thought they were top notch. Actually , back in the day they weren't as concerned about how it looked as they were did serve their purpose.

Watauga

Looks good to me,..and still would work well for 1825-1845 +/- Western Fur trade....

beowulf

well !  it belongs to a cousin , he got it from the friend I made it for , 35 years ago ! I`m actually surprised it has`nt fallen apart !

Bulldog lady

[hmm] Thinkin it looks pretty darn clean and new to alot I've seen!   Maybe's ya need to go trapping or do some fleshin out or even just cookin in it. Get that pretty new look off it.  Sleep in it for a week or so maybe take a swim after  you know what to do!

beowulf

it`s been through all of that ! even the beadwork was redone about 15 years back !  it`s darker than originally and a bit stiffer ! has held up rather well ! lol

Hanshi

Remember that there were no "fashion" police back then and no fashion standards.....I don't think???    hntr

I have a fellow flintlock/friend who sometimes dresses up in, well, self-made period clothing.  To be brutally honest he looks more like a homeless guy than a pioneer.  Still, he enjoys it and I NEVER offer my uninformed advice.
