You did very well, on the "Junker" alone.

I am most certain that a Jukar rifle, in the hands of a shootist  can and will shoot or outshoot any custom hand built black powder rifle.  Just because it is a factory made rifle does not make it a JUNKER.

I`ve owned a few , accurate as heck , good barrel , the locks on the percussion rifles are decent , cant say the same for the flintlocks , but it`s the stock that gives them the designation ;"junker " there`s no reason for them to have been made with a two piece stock , in fact there`s no reason for the traditions version to have a two piece stock !  it`s not like they use a decent type of wood , the damned things are beechwood ! same wood you find on military issue com block ak 47`s !

 Pilgrim,
Being a factory rifle does not make any rifle a "Junkar". It's what most "Jukar" rifles have been known as.

I must admit that as ugly as that stock is, it did shoot very well. I shot it until I got the Jaeger Kentuckian. 3 inch longer barrel and beautiful one piece walnut stock. I just could not get over the two piece stock. Most of my first scratch built rifle came from a (very incomplete) jukar kit. And patches (as I call it) has a walnut one piece long rifle stock.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

I`d be happy with a jukar, cva, traditions  if the stock was swapped out for a one piece stock ! decent stock , maybe a little change in the hardware , and possibly a patch box . would be a really nice little rifle !
