In my caplocks, I use Triple 7 usually, reducing the load by 10-15 % depending on the gun and it's preference. Other than that, I use black. I also tried Pyrodex in several caplocks and couldn't get good consistent ignition, even in my revolvers or my 12 ga. dbl which are essentially in lines . wound up using most of a can of p grade & most of a can of RS as fertilizer for my lawn. The weeds loved it.

Triple 7 is orders of magnitude preferable to Pyrodex.  hntr
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Very easy clean up too. I take a bottle of water, flannel for cleaning patches and alcohol  to clean between shot while @ the range. At home I clean w/ Ballistisol & water, 1 to 3 parts, run an alcohol patch downbore , followed by a Ballistisol patch and then wipe down the metal work. Quick, easy and it works good for me. I taught my brother this way and he said it worked great. 6 mo. later ran a patch and couldn't tell it had been fired. Your results may vary.

I shoot real black (mostly GOEX but I have used other brands) except when I'm hunting. I hunt with 777 because I sometimes hunt in a blizzard and I don't have to worry about cleaning it right then and can get right to work on the elk. It will get cleaned up in camp or at the house depending on where I'm hunting and I have never had an issue with it.

As previously mentioned I tried Pyrodex when it was a new product (Yes, I'm that old.) and finally figured out that the pyrodex was the reason my guns were rusting, so I quit using it. I would use it if I was desperate but Remember to Clean, Clean, and Reclean.

777 doesn't rust my guns but as Greybear mentioned the volume needs to be reduced slightly because it will increase your velocity by 10-15%. It says so right on the can if I remember correctly.
