had the blade for about three years , and as long for the two scraps of maple ! the scabbard is split buffalo with a cow hide liner !  figured it was time to do something with the stuff !   I`m mostly happy with it , but , think I can do better !

Winter Hawk

DAG?  I thought it said DOG!  It sure is a nice knife, but I was kinda looking for a four-legged critter with a wide, flat tail! ROFL :o

thanks for the compliment . I`d say I do some fairly interesting stuff , considering the tools and materials I have ! generally surprise myself !  lol

a cousin said it reminded him of a roman short sword lol , guess styles dont really change much . it`s a pretty fair copy of a british trade item , that would have been found in the hands of most north eastern tribes in the 18th century , and later the plains tribes in the 19th and even early 20th century . used to be able to get the blades from the hudson bay company ! they came in several different styles ,  crazy crow sells two of them , but I dont know of any company that sells this style , but there are several custom makers who do them !

beowulf Nice work!  I keep seeing the reproduction Sioux Lance Blades and think [hmm] putting a handle on them would make a cool knife.....  pnic  pnic  Once I find one "Cheap enough" I will perhaps give it a try....
