Chubbsville Pennsylvania was the original name for what is now Point Phillips.  I live at the top of the hill just above Point Phillips Hotel and The Chubbs House.  I have searched for information concerning the history of this area and have found some interesting notes.   We have been told  that the land where our house is built is on an old Indian Burial Ground.   The surrounding area is rich in history,  mostly forgotten over time.  It saddens me to learn of the past,  how the new settlers screwed over the Native Americans upon the new settlers arrival and later.  Mostly the History of Meniolagomeka saddens and angers  me.     Who did these Europeans settlers think they were?   Always finding ways to  push the Native Americans off and  away from their ancestral  lands  and cheating them out of their land.

The new settlers also suffered  reprisals that  came from the hands of Native Americans.  I try to look at this from both sides,  yet it is hard to accept what happened to the local  Native Americans.  But it explains why there were reprisals from the Natives.    Too Bad we never have learned to live in Peace, ever.   In my research I have learned that the Native American of my area,  had at times been warlike, and sort of accept this as a way of their life,  little did they know what history had in-store for them.   Sad,   very sad.

I continue to search for an Indian Chief, named,  Bohnahue or Benohee.   The Native American that resides in our house.    I will continue to search and  hopefully,  when I pass on from this life,  I can  finally meet him and we can talk of his time.    Some have seen him in all his splendor,  with colorful headress.  Me I  only occassional sense someones spirit  is here,  near me,  watching me.

This summer I plan to go to the local Lenape Indian  museum and try to learn more.
