Roundball problem

Quite a few prb shooters weigh the balls and sort them; I never thought the effort was worth the results.  The way I shoot it won't make any difference in my targets.  I'm one of those "lucky to keep 'em in the black" shooters.  Glad you found a load your rifle really likes.  thmbsup
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

I see several concerns with what you are doing right off the bat:
1) Get rid of the Pyrodex and use black powder. Either FFg or FFFg.
2) My Experience TC's has been to use .495, not .490 round balls.
3) Try at least .018 or .020 patches. Forget the pre lubes and go to Mr Flint lock, Leihigh Valley, Hoppes #9 or even spit patch.
4) 1:48 ROT is fine for round ball, you just have to find the proper load for your rifle. No two ML's will like the same load so you have to experiment. All this is said IMHO.

Boewulf is correct. Another thing I am realizing is that the patch is like the rings on a piston, if you get the perfect blend of friction and resistance every time, thru consistency is loading , proper patch thickness and a consistent amount of lube,   semi slow twists will pitch a round all to pretty close to the same place l, discounting human error.I love this s¿}?.
