I've been shooting out in the desert here, and I met a bunch of really nice guys who're members of the over the hill gang. I had a blast visiting with them. I was the only guy with a smoke pole, but it didn't matter. These guys shoot from Tuesday to Thursday to avoid the working folks who shoot weekends. I had my traditions Kentucky rifle percussion kit built gun out there sighting it in. Was a beautiful day, in the 70's. Sure enjoyed myself, going back out to shoot in the morning. chrrs flwa [conf]

Looks like your situation looks brighter nowadays.

Yes, things have really changed for the better. First I met five guys and we had a shoot in Camp Verde, AZ. Man was that a great day for me. As the new guy, I made some great friends, and learned a lot about our activities from these guys who were so willing to help a new guy out. That, and the shooting out in the desert have been a whole lot of fun. [conf]

Have been back out a dozen times having a good time, shoot in a different place, less crowded and have had a good time shooting. Still haven't got my traditions .50 sighted in right, but have had fun plinking at targets with it. I sure wouldn't dare go to a rondy and try to compete with it yet though.

You would be welcome at any rondy I go to whether the rifle is "ready to compete" or not!
Even tho I never thought I could ever "compete" in my early years of shooting I went and enjoyed myself and learned how to shoot better and got to know a few people.

The people ended up being the reason for going back.
