I just found one of particular interest to me, "A Narrative of the Indian War in Florida and Major Dade's Massacre". This battle was fought about 6 miles from my house in 1836 and all but 3 of the US troops were killed by Seminole Indians. The annual reenactment is taking place this coming weekend. Seminoles and other tribes will be represented with genuine articles and the battle takes place afterwards.

The book was published not long after the battle.
