 hi:  Just thought better check up on you guys and see what new and interesting things you have been up to!  Have done some research on dyes for quills and depending on where you live lots of things from bark to mud.  Also if you live near anyone who dyes their own yarns they have some beautiful bright natural colors.   I have always used the vinegar to dye or set colors with.  A tip on coffee or tea, brew it strong, don't use leftover grinds and lay it flat when drying or you can get dark stains as it drips out toward the bottom as it dries.  Hope this helps some.
