Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Thank you all for the pro-active welcome.  I came across this site and was interested in the "cheap" part of your name.  I have found little to nothing about this hobby that is cheap.  Not as expensive as some I have pursued in the past.  I have owned TC Hawkens and Lyman GPR in the past and sold for one reason or another.  I now have a Lyman GPR from a Kit, with a beautiful stock (just by luck) and a Traditions Kentucky Pistol also from a kit.  I am in the process of talking my self into a TOW Tennessee stock and components to build a small caliber flintlock.   I am in North Texas, where today's temperature is in the high 70s.
