price of percussion caps

I priced a can of 100 "magnum" caps at a store on Friday. They wanted $14. for a can. I may be changing all my BP shooting to flint. I had success with the plastic ring caps so have 1200 of those for $6. they will work at the range in a pinch.  I prefer regular caps, but I think I have been pinched.

You can still get flints for under 2 bucks all day long, beats the hell out of paying for caps...

I just bought a case(10)for $58.00. $5.80 a can. I remember .85! Cig's .35 Gas .27,unless there were gas war's,thentwoopposing stations were down to .09! The one station finally got chick's in bikini's to pump gas and wash windsheild's,and BOY!,were my windsheild's CLEAN!

I remember them days. Hamburgers were .20 or 6 for a $1.00., but on the other hand min wage .75 a hr.

The problem with buying on the www is the haz mat fee. Sure kicks up the fee, but I have to drive 60 miles to get caps if they are available. Every thing cost more....

CCI Magnums  6.99, CCi regular caps 5.99, and that's just one can at a time. But then CCI is only about 150 miles from here.

Several yrs ago I got lucky enough to catch a small shop going out of business. He had 4000 cci #11s and since nobody around here shoots BP anyway I bought the whole lot for 50.00 dollars. I thought I got a pretty fair deal that time

Three friends and i just split 25 lbs of goex and 25lbs of swiss that we got in bulk at Backcreek gunshop in Winchester Va.The goex cost us about 13.00 bucks a pound.Rws caps at Sportsmans Warehouse in Roanoke were 6 bucks a can.Not bad really if ya got empty cans to put it in.
