Thanks so much for sharing the whole process with us! It's neat to see it go from sketch to finished piece. :) Love it.

Whether it's a painting, a piece of music, writing, whatever -- I believe a piece of art's truest value isn't for simply what it is, but for what it means to each person who experiences it.

Recently a song was performed by the judges and contestants of one of the singing competitions that are now on TV, in tribute to the victims in the Sandy Hook killings. One YouTube commentor on the performance took exception because, according to her, the song as originally written and performed was as much about sex as about giving thanks to God. However, she missed the point -- the lyrics had been tweaked for the tribute and there was nothing sexual in the content, no doubt what was meant by the performers, nor how it was taken by a multitude of very appreciative listeners.

And so a simple song transcended anything its writer might ever have intended, composing it, and touched countless people, and in so doing became no longer its creator's property, at least not in the realm of art. I believe this to be what all artists, even if secretly, truly wish as they create -- that what they do will have meaning to all who experience it.

Achieving that is to achieve a form of immortality.

thmbsup to ya, Dave.
