I just want to offer up a simple prayer of comfort for those families affected by the school shootings in Newtown Ct. today.
"GOD made man and Sam Colt made em equal"
Well, you gonna pull them pistols or whistle Dixie?

Likewise. The pain these people are in is beyond my ability to comprehend or even imagine.

I also pray for the families that have been devastated by this senseless act, especially for the innocent children. May the perpetrator burn in hell...

My prayers and thoughts have been on the tragedy since I heard about it.  Having lost two children of my own I can relate to what those parents are going through.Being a teacher and working with kids that age makes it even more real for me. We just had a practice lockdown drill at our school last week but don't  think anything could prepare you this kind of act. I pray that those parents find peace in their lives and trust in the all mighty.

This was posted on FB this morning...
I believe the author, unknown, was truly inspired by God .
In Loving Memory of the Sandy Hook Elementary Victims...

T'was 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
When 20 beautiful children stormed through Heaven's gate .

Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air .
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there .

They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say .
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day .

"Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse .
"This is Heaven", declared a small boy, "We're spending Christmas at God's house!"

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near .

He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same .
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name .

And in that moment was joy that only Heaven can bring,
Those children all flew into the arms of their King!

And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
One small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face,

And as if He could read all the questions she had,
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad . "

Then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe,

Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!

May this country be delivered from the hands of fools!
I'm taking back My nation, I'm taking back My schools!"

Then He and the children stood up without a sound .
"Come now My children let me show you around . "

Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran;
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can .

And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,

"In the midst of this darkness,
I AM STILL THE LIGHT!"

I know it is short notice but I received this in an email today:

In light of the horrific tragedy that occurred last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT, a National Moment of Silence is being called for tomorrow, Friday the 21st at 8:30 AM CST. All employees of H.L. Flake Security Hardware will be participating in this moment of silence and I encourage all of our customers to do the same.  Our phones will be silenced and no calls will be answered for 2 minutes. I appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.

This tragedy has touched every single one of us. This kind of thing sends our minds reeling: What could have been done to prevent this? What can we do to make "next time" never happen? What policies need to be revised? What laws need to be changed? How could one human being perform such an unbelievably atrocious act?

I certainly found myself asking all of these questions, mulling them over in my own mind, discussing them with my family and friends, and even debating some of these issues with some people. But then, I remembered Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Many things that happen in our lives truly are incomprehensible. They are utterly impossible for any human to wrap their head around. Trying to do so, I believe, can be an act of futility. As great a Nation as this is, as far as the human race has come, there has always been, and will always be evil. In terribly painful times like this, I think that in a bit of a strange way, the sooner that we are able to accept the fact that we are not in control, the sooner we are able to truly find peace. So now, I believe, the best thing for us all to do, is to just take a moment of silence. Please take a moment tomorrow with the family here at H.L. Flake to count your blessings, and say a prayer for the people whose lives have been turned upside down in this last week.

God Bless you all, and have a very Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,

Jeff Floeck
