We got alittle time away this weekend, and hit up our favorite spot at a lake not too far from home. Jr and I had a good time, and did much of nothing!

View inside the tent, that buffalo hide plus the stove sure made for a warm night

Kiddo was excited to sleep under the hide

Then we got the fire going and set a pot of chaga tea to brewing (thanks Croatoan!)

Kiddo even liked it!

With the help of Jr, we got a nice reflector built

Then we got to work on a smoker,

And it got dark quick, but we started cooking

After kiddo crashed, Dad relaxed with a scottish ale and a smoke

Our tent set up

The coals in the stove in the morning, man that thing was warm.

We really got it going cooking breakfast, I can tell you it's realy nice not having to get dressed and go outside to do this. Hell I could have done it laying in bed

Helping put out the fire, in his Mario Jammies with is wool felt hat on!

We had a blast.

Thanks for sharing, looks like you guys didn't starve!  Great way to spend weekend and the pictures will help the memories stay alive.  Ought to start a book of your treks. Be fun to watch thru the years as the adventures progress.  Again thanks - great camp ideas

Shining times!  BDlady is correct on the scrapbook thing - It is amazing to sit back after a few years and look through the pictures and see the different steps of progression... and in 20 years the picture of the "Mario Jammies" will be nice to show his new girlfriends!    pnic

Now that looks like fun! Thanks for sharing, and now I won't take any guff from the Bear Flag boys when I wear my Mario jammies and sleep under my buffler robe!

I've done a bunch of tent camping but I have never had a stove in the tent.  I can only imagine how wonderful it is to wake to a warm tent and even make b'fast in there.    thmbsup  thmbsup
