Backwoodsman.... Haven't had that kind of trouble with my ramrods.  I have (gulp)) Aluminum and Fiberglass ramrods to hunt with.  Sure had lots of humidity problems with 777 and Pyrodex though.

watch that fiberglass Mr Ironwood they do break and be hard on riflin for sure...
and I thought that PYRODEX stuff was the best stuff in the world (joke)
Used to be an outfitt that made   dry pan powder   it was white powder ya mixed in ya powder
now this seems lika tall tale     you could take ya powder put it ina cup then fill with water
when the powder floated to the top ... you could light it off wiffa match.
never seen it done meeself
