where can i get basket makeing supplies for makeing pack baskets on the cheap

Kris,

It depends on what kind pf baskets you want to make, there are several different styles...

I think the easiest and cheapest would be to wait a while and gather cattails or other rush plants when they are big enough and use the stalks for you baskets.  Let mother nature provide you witht he raw materials instead of buying them...

Springtime willow bark makes nice stuff///just find a stream and strip some...

As Red Badger said, do some research.  They can be coiled and sewn, woven out of bark or grasses or some tribes used pieces of bark and laced them.  Heather was making a basket using pine  needles sewn together with raffia ( you can buy it at Walmart or any craft stores (cheap).  Have fun
