If you live in Colorado. I was surprised to find it in City Markets. Check it out.

I know...old thread, but new info.  ;D

I know this is an old post but I'm new here and I had to chime in. I've been a subscriber of Backwoodsman for several years and I have kept every issue. It always has interesting black powder articles as well as articles on non muzzleloading guns. In fact I contributed an article on inexpensive handguns that is published in the current issue. I love this magazine because it focuses on the average person and how they pursue their outdoor and self reliance hobbies in an affordable way. Its not a slick professionally written magazine loaded with ads for high priced guns and gear. I really respect what Charlie Richie is trying to do.

About 15 years ago they offered life-time subscriptions for, IIRC, $250 and I got one so they'll keep coming to me every other month until I'm pushing up daisies!  I contacted Charlie a couple of years ago to see if he would reprint an article on building a piroque.  Next thing I know, there is a copy of the issue with the original article in my mail box.  Good folks there in Texas!

Hello, I'm a very long time reader. Thoroughly enjoy the magazine. It is loaded with DIY articles. I only wish they had a muzzleloading article in every issue but then again it is not a muzzleloading magazine. Really great magazine.
Thanks

I've been a subscriber to Muzzleloader Magazine for years.  It's usually full of articles about muzzleloaders/ hunting and more.

I subscribe to Muzzleloader also and enjoy it very much. The only beef I have with it, if you can call it a beef, is its focus on custom flintlocks. Some of us will never own a custom muzzleloader. All my rifles are production percussion guns and I love to shoot all of them. Some I've built from kits and none of them cost more than $300. I wish Muzzleloader would pay more attention to us pedestrian muzzleloader shooters.

You need to express your displeasure with muzzleloader magazine with the editor of the magazine. He does listen to folks and you have a valid point. I agree with you. They also are getting very heavy with advertising and thin on articles. I just didn't renew my subscription to it as my way of complaining. The folks on this and other forums are more intune to my way of doing things.

Others have also complained.  I'll never own a one-of-a-kind $4,000 gun and that's alright with me.  I often skip over those type articles.

IMHO that mag went downhill when Scurlock sold it... I don't get any right now but have hinted to the grandkids that a complete library of backwoodsman CD's would be a nice gift for Christmas and birthday combination :)  of course ya'll could chip in for them also :)  pnic
