 bronze wing pigeon chick
got a phone call from my sons school yesterday they asked if i could come and look at two chicks that the branch that had there nest snapped and fell down out of the tree ,the nest was wrecked and one chick was dead they asked if i could do any thing for the other one and what sort of bird it was,
i told them it was a common bronze wing pigeon i think this little fella will make it,i have raised a few birds from the school and let them go back at the school when they are ready

Great example of interaction with nature. Kids will remember situations like that.
are they a common breed?

Gordy yes they are quite common but with them living i the burbs they have had to nest much higher than they normally would to get away from cats which makes there nests prone to being blown down by are strong easterly winds this time of the year they normally nest about 16 feet of the ground but in the burbs they go much higher 30 to 40 feet .
