Nice pattern i am thinking about making one out of dyed canvas lined pillow tacking. Do you think that would all right or do i need to make it out of leather?

I like this pattern myself.  I think that I saw this some time ago on Muzzleloading Forum. ;)

I think this would work fine with a heavy canvas. You may wish to line it too. I also posted this on the muzzleloading board some time ago.

A fowler bag, yes that's what I need. I think I will use Heavy canvas as well, just so happens I have some out in the garage.  Probably need to dye it some color though.  Also got some mattress ticking also for a liner.  I like this pattern.  Thanks for shareing.

Making one out of canvas that's more of a hunt bag than just shot bag, but intended for use in field when out hunting. Only concession to 'non-traditional- is using some blaze orange wool for the cloth part of the carry strap instead of other traditional colors. Figure I'd forego that one strip of material as a nod to additional safety concerns with some of today's hunters.
