I know times are hard and some people have a tight budget and may be can't afford to keep their pets.  But man I wish they would quit riding out to the country and dumping them out.  I came home from church to find a 8 - 10 month old German Shepherd.  It was laying there waiting on it's master to return.  I put the word out so if anyone had lost a dog , she might be found.  In the mean time the poor thing just stayed by the gate waiting for her master.  Usually they end up at my house but this one just stayed put.  A dog that loyal deserved a better fate.  I have 2 dogs and don't need another but I had done decided to not call the pound and find her a home.  Well fate has a way of working itself out.  Today, one of my student's parents called and asked if I still had the dog.  He had promised his children a dog when they got moved into their new house.  To make a long story short the dog now has a new family to give it the love it deserves.
I don't know who was the happiest the dog or the 2 children it was like they were made for each other.  And to the !@$#$$%^ scum bag that dumped her out I better not ever catch you doing such a stupid act .

On the other hand, the previous owner obviously did the pup a favor and the kids and dog are the winners

For people like that they make a short rope and a long drop for them. hntr Here everyone dumps there cats I'm at the end of a road out in the woods. Usually the coyotes get'em.

There is no reason to dump any animal now a days. There are so many rescue groups who will gladly take any animal to try to find it a new home, most all do this for free. They provide the animal any health care it may need and work hard to find them compatable homes. I get all my dogs from rescue groups and have for quite a few years. Don't know where you live Redhawk, but I'm sure there is a rescue group close by, all it takes is a phone call.

I work with a couple of guys who probably wouldn't dump a dog or cat, because it would be so much more satisfying to them to shoot the animal. And I have to say, in all fairness -- once you get to know Leonard and Harold, I mean really get to know them after working with them day-in and day-out for several years -- they're even more worthless than you might imagine up-front. I have yet to detect anything even approaching a redeeming feature in either man.

Thank you, Redhawk. You're one of the good ones.
