Being a Civil War Buff I have been to Gettysburg - twice, in recent years. It will honestly stun you to stand on some of the battlefields and listen to the guide describe the fighting and death on those 3 days of battle. Truly a Dark day in American History, Lets Hope and Pray that it never happens Again.

Thanks Deaddawg for sharing. My Great Grandfather was in NC 26th in Picket's Charge. He was wounded in the arm and knocked down by cannon fire and knocked out. It probably saved his life.  I went to Gettysburg several years back and walked the ground he covered.  I couldn't image what was going on in those soldier's heads as they crossed that open field.  They were some kind of brave! A salute to all the veterans and their sacrifices.
