Hi, All:
Here is my first attempt at building a knife, and sheath. I bought the German knife blank around 1979 and started the process of building the knife, it was going to be a part of my muzzle loading gear. The project fell by the wayside until two years ago when I finally got back to the project. I finished the knife, and bought some oil tanned cow hide to try my luck at building a sheath for it. Having never built anything out of heavy leather, I questioned everyone that I knew about how to construct, and sew the sheath. that took a year, and was no help. Finally I just started by laying out the leather, spacing the stitching holes and drilling them with a small steel bit, and using some old lacing string that I had on hand, double stitched the sheath, using two needles. The project took 30+ years, but is finally done.
