Ceremonial Throwing Hawk

A few years ago I made a trade for this brass Hawk from a woman in Georgia. It has beaded and fringed elkhide on the handle. She has since gone to meet her maker. She was most known for her beaded Lakota style quivers but I was able to get her to make me a backquiver of which is just as ornate as this Hawk. Here is a pic of her modeling this beautiful work of art.

Nope, no throwing. It has been in a place of honor on my den wall every since I received it.
