Gun Vice for Cleaning Building and Repairs...

I Decided I needed to make a Tabletop portable Gun Vice,.. for Flintlock Cleaning Building and Repairs...   So I asked for two Wood Clamps for Christmas and using some old Skid Pallet Wood,.. I came up with this design  .  It seems to work very well     I can Clamp it to my Work bench and I lock the Clamps with Bolts,.. In-case I ever need to do heavy repairs.... This is Defiantly an on the Cheap Project     I like the Rustic look of the Pallet wood..

Gotta love it!  I made one a few years ago using the threaded rods and swivel nuts out of a set of parallel clamps. Effective and cheap! Well done sir.

nice ! only thing I`d have done different is gluing a strip of leather on the inside of the clamps to prevent and marring of the stock ! particularly on a finished stock !

beowulf I actually did glue pieces of an old leather belt in the clamp Jaws.... I Forgot to mention that part...I made it a U shape so if the Rifle slips it can not hit the threads of the Clamps threaded rods. And,..It is a good thing I did because the rifle did slip once    And the Belt leather is what saved it

Very nice -  I like the looks and functionality of this ...

Now does anyone have a setup that will work for bench rest shooting to remove the human element when sighting in a rifle?  The ones commercially available do not seem suitable for muzzleloaders

I like it!  That's quite a nice, heavy duty rest.  Mine's not quite so heavy duty but has served well the past 20 years.  I bought mine from Cabelas a couple of decades back; didn't cost much then and it's all wood.  It works great for cleaning & tinkering but lacks the "gun building" strength of yours.  This is the best pic I have of mine; light duty.

I expected your bench to be as disorganized as your mind but it's actually cleaner than my bench. I guess that translates to me being wackier than you.
