Pellets should be usable if you crimp them to feed them down the tube... But now for a safety quiz... What is wrong with the image on the website Beowulf posted?  First correct answer might get a prize - I'll have to see what I have laying around...R.B.

Outside of the top picture being .177 cal, I think they are fine. Maybe the next mini flintlock will be in .17 cal.  [hmm]

Hey, it could happen!  pnic

[hmm] Annoying older brother would think there is a .22 pellet that would fill the bill.  What you're going to end up with is the original .22 BP cartridge in a muzzleloader.  And you DO remember me telling you that a 3/8" ramrod won't work?  hntr

Huh, what the...? That's OK, I have a 5/16" rod that I can use.   thmbsup

Papa

I built a .22 full stock 20+ years ago for my grandson. Marlin barrel, Italian back action pistol lock (percussion) and a cherry full stock. We shot .22 lead pellets with good accuracy. Can't post but can send pics to someone who can.

I have all the parts, now I am looking for someone with a metal lathe with a 4 jaw chuck to drill the breech for the breech plug. For free, this is "On the Cheap" after all. Right now my place is torn up and stuff is stacked all over my work areas due to a bit of flooding last week, so pretty much everything I was working on is put off until after the new year. And if I can't find someone with a lathe, I'll rig something up and do it by hand, the way I wind up doing most of this stuff anyway.

"Valley fever" seems to be affecting Californians and causing weirdness.  But in their defense, It's only the 98% that gives the remaining 2% a bad name; my brother, hotfxr, is in the 2% and immune to "valley fever", of course.  snns
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.
