i see a lot of guys say they would like to fit a peep sight on there muzzeloader as they say they find them better to use but think it will not look PC here is an alternative set up that will keep it more PC, i use a marbles no 68 full buckhorn sight with the u notch insert pushed rite down so i get a ghost ring effect, when used with a silver blade front sight it is superb in low light for hunting in thick cover.like a real peep sight your eye automaticly centers the blade in the circle of the buckhorn see pics.ps i tried to get as close as i could with the cam as if i where looking down the barrel.this sight would be a great replacement for the  lyman great plains rifle just enlarge the dovetail on the barrel or make the sight dovetail to fit the lyman dovetail, they cost $15 from buffalo arms in idaho.

Reconsider filing the dovetail in the barrel to fit the sight.  Wouldn't it be better to file the sight, the cheaper of the two, to fit the barrel?  Then when there is an "oops" it cost a lot less than a new barrel.  My philosophy is to modify the part that is cheapest .

Ranger

Good idea and a nice job on the site, Bernie.
