I had my triple bypass in August of 2016. After reading your update, I dug out the booklet they gave me afterwards.
I need to lay off the fats and carbs too. I don't walk as much as I used to due to my left hip going bad but I need to get it fixed and get back to a healthier regimen.

All I can say is, be a good patient & listen to your doc and follow his orders.  At our age we must take care.  The pain of losing a brother is truly awful.  But I KNOW you'll be around when I get up in age, er, older, that is.  All the best to you my friend.
