Sat around for over an hour last night writing a post on my build and progress with pictures. Had some out of order and did a cut and paste and than whoosh....gone. so this is just a short one on browning my barrel. Not much to be found on the subject so like so many things muzzleloader no right or wrong way so figure it out and see if it works. Used R. E. Davis browning with vague directions.on 40 year old bottle. Almost done .....URL=http://s947.photobucket.com/user/lethemgo/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160130_094110.jpg.html][/URL].

Ahhh, looking good there. I know some disagree with the browning, but it gives a firearm just the right look sometimes. IMHO  About half of mine are browned and I think they look the best.  thmbsup
I am the one your mom warned you about!

I prefer either a browned finish or a french grey finish ! that looks good , turned out really nice  thmbsup

More home-browning jobs turn out looking bad to me than the ones that look good. Yours looks good.

I prefer the look of a hot-blued barrel but finding a trough long enough for a 44" barrel that holds boiling water makes it difficult to do.

Pato I've heard aluminum rain gutters capped will do it for troughs...

Now that really sounds like "on the cheap" answer . I like it.

Cheap, cheap; did somebody say "cheap"?  I crave cheap.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

In Regards to losing it all when you "cut and paste",,, if you use "copy and paste",, and you lose what you are moving,,, the original message should still be intact,,, JMHO   flwa
