.490 bag mold, main spring vise, multi tool/turnscrew, primitive pliers and forged fork.

Nope, too big and the resized pics aren't showing up anywhere on my laptop.  Will try again later as I have wasted several hours on just one photo.

Maybe this will work:

William,
I would be wrapping the handles on that mold with leather thongs. You are going to find they will get pretty hot pretty quick when you start running ball. Even with that done you will probably have to run a half dozen and then let the mold cool down.

Yea, I planned on using some thick buffalo leather I have left over to wrap the handles with. There was a good article on casting by the fire by Mike Nesbitt in this months issue of Muzzleloader magazine too that has some good tips in it.  I have order a lead ladle, spoon as well as a two strap back pack from Larry and I'll get pictures up as soon as they arrive.  I may only use the bag mold once, or I may never use it but the rest will be of use at various times but I gotta have some goals.

I wrapped my brass Colt C&B mold with lace and still had to use heavy leather gloves. But even that got too hot after a while.

I have a similar mold.  After about a dozen balls or so its pretty warm.  I didn't wrap my handles yet but intend to do so.

I  suggest using WELDER GLOVES,   or you might try   "THE OVE GLOVE" as advertised on TV.  Also check out a restaurant supply store,  they sell heat proof gloves for cooks etc.

I have a dozen or so of Larry's moulds,a few in odd ball sizes, and they throw just as good a ball as ANY mould I've ever used! When a mould is marked,".745",every ball from it will be .745. First to last.

Wrapping the handles are a must. I use a production pot, bottom pour at home, and his ladle in the field. The only item of his I don't really care for are the pliers.  Maybe I'll heat treat mine, may help.

His ball puller is also the best. Has never failed to pull a ball,no matter how tight.

I am an unpaid fan of Larry's stuff.

I still haven't gotten around to using that mold yet but after moving into a new house, at least I know where all that stuff is.  For the time being I have to focus (spend money) on some improvements to the new place like gutters on the sides and back to I don't start to have foundation problems but all in due time. At least I now have a garage to do projects in.  Before now I had to use a tiny back patio at my condo, nosy neighbors and all.  The firs time I cleaned my muzzle loaders back there my neighbor complained to the home owners board that I was shooting guns off my back porch.  I had to tell the president that if I had actually done that, she and all 20 units would have definitely heard it.  Anyway, all in due time.
