I posted to an old thread!  rdfce I want to make a cape to cover my huntin coat in light rain. Does any one know how to make "Oil cloth"? Im thinkin of useing some drop cloth canvas I have. Need something light that can be rolled up small. Probably simple, but experience beats experiments every time.  thmbsup

It can be done but it is a giant pain in the rear to accomplish, especially for such a small amount. You'd be much better off buying what you need and sewing it yourself from Tentsmiths or other places that sell oilcloth.

Make sure you wash and dry hot to close weave as much as possible before you do much...just that makes it much better at sheding water

I hadnt thought of that, but it makes a lot of sense. My cape wont be gettin smaller in time either!

It's the little things that count...hate to work hard on a project just to have to give it
to somebody smaller....except to a kid of course...
