Hawk handle blanks

I have 11 handle blanks suitable for a variety of sizes of hawks. All have very nearly perfectly straight grain. The three on the bottom, in the picture, are plain, tough maple -- these are the ones you want to build your tossin' hawks with. They range from 20 to 21 inches in length. The seven above them range from 16 1/4 to 21 inches and are various grades of curly maple, several very nice. The top one, 18 3/4" long, is curly ash.

These are cut-offs from the muzzle ends of gunstock blanks, nicely-dried and free of any visible flaws.

All these blanks have at least one end that measures a MINIMUM of 1 1/2" x 1 3/16", with most actually 1/16" or so larger both ways. The exception is the fifth one down, which somehow came out of the saw and jointer with one end 1 1/2" x 1 1/8". If there's no hawk head with a hole quite that small, make knife scales out of this one -- there's enough curl in it to make some nice pieces.

The catch to trying to sell these is shipping. Just to give a ballpark idea of upper-end shipping, from my home in SE Indiana to my childhood home in Hawthorne, CA, a single handle wrapped in paper and weighing slightly less than 2 pounds will require upwards of $10 to be sent Standard Post. On the other hand, the lot of 11 will require just under $27 shipping (Standard Post), with UPS getting slightly more for the same delivery. Obviously it won't pay to buy only one or two blanks.

I'll sell the lot of 11 for a dollar each (that's $11, for anyone who's graduated from a public school system within the last ten years), plus actual shipping -- no packaging, driving, gas, or other "extra" fees, just what the post office is going to charge at the counter. With the buyer's ZIP Code and my little food scale I can calculate precise shipping, on request.

At the upper end of the shipping-price scale these blanks work out to less than $3.50 per unit, which based on prices I saw on similar blanks at Friendship, this past week, seems to be a good deal. The ones I saw ranged in price from $4 to $10 depending on the amount of curl in the wood.

Mike,  If they are still available I would like them.
