I want t add another pistol to the heard.  I have looked at the LeMatt, and had a hard time spending that kind of money on a Pietta.  I looked at a 58 Remy for about $200, but I keep reading poor reviews Pietta in general.  Should I look for a Uberti instead?

I have a Pietta 58 Remington. I like mine the fit and finish are good and i think it is a good value for the money. Mine seems to have one flaw that the hammer spring is a little week compared to my to my Colt. It is not a problem as long as i keep the lock clean. I always though it was more of a Remington problem than a Pietta Problem.

I've had a bunch of Pietta 58 remmys. and never a bad one...they've all been great shooters and as reliable as a modern gun. I don't think you can go wrong with one. If your worried that yours might be the exception, buy from Cabelas...they back there guns 100 percent. If's anythings wrong it's replaced as many times as necessary till your satisfied. Cabelas cost slightly more, but the warranty's worth it.

Thanks for the input.  I think I well go over to Cabelas web site and order one.  Cabelas return policy is the main reason I am buying from them.  Now I need to decide if I want the target model or standard.

update
New 1858 New Army Target .44 Caliber Revolver on it's way.  I wish it was available with the casehardened frame...oh well.

When you get her in, some photos would be nice.

Fed ex came today with the Pietta.  Very nice fit and finish, cyl feels tight with very little endplay, the trigger has a lot of creep, but that an easy fix.  The hammer spring feels very weak, hardly any tension the last 1/4 inch of travel.  That shouldn't be hard to fix.  Very pleased for the price I paid.

I hadn't planned on another so soon, but I ran across this carbine so cheap I could not let it get away.  NIB, Uberti 58 carbine for $300.

MCB, that carbine is something wildbull and I have both really wanted for a while!

Very nice collection there.   I'd put that pic in my sig line of I were you!

Dryball

Yes That carbine is a blast...literally! I have had a couple over the years and I should warn you...they spit! Make sure you wear shooting glasses if you care for your eyes...and earplugs as that short barrel is pretty loud. But, the ones I had were accurate and reliable plus a whole lot of fun! Oh, and keep your off hand behind the cylinder or you could lose a finger or two in the event of a multiple discharge. Be safe and you'll love it.

Update on the 58 Pietta.  The mainspring screw was about two turns out, so hammer is fine now.  The sear notch on the hammer was about 3/32 deep.  A half hour of stoning and testing I have it down to just a touch of creep.  I'll shoot it some more and see if it changes.  Both the 58's shoot great, I shot a hundred rounds yesterday and I'm impressed with the carbine, if I spend some time working up a load I think it is capable of two moa.
