I bought a slightly used Centimark fusil and will be picking it up this coming Saturday. This is my first smoothbore and custom gun and I was wondering what would be a good patched ball combo to start with. I will post pics when I bring her home next week.  thmbsup

well first we need to know what caliber is measures out to....  I would just experiment because each gun likes its own load...

I have one friend who has been in this sport a loooong time who recommends taking a ball that will just bearly roll slide down the muzzle without an assistance or patch, and then add patching until you get a good group.  The thing to remember is put some powder down the tube first so you can get the unpatched ball out easy!   pnic

Of course this guy is phenominal at shooting unpatched ball with great accuracy too!

Is there a Centermark website?
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Sorry Guys. it's a 62 Cal.  there is no website. the guy who owns Centimark I believe is a one man show, he does excellent work.  He runs an ad in the muzzleloader magazine. will send pics as soon as i can.

any one interested in his guns can call him and he`ll send you a brochure ! you can find his adds and phone# in muzzle loader magazine ! I used a .600 diameter round ball and a thin patch , lotta guys use an over the powder wad and a card over the ball .  makes a nice fowling piece to ! if you want to use a patch you could go with a .58 ball and a thicker patch . should make for easier loading when the fouling starts to get heavy , I would suggest running a cleaning patch through ever so often !
